Ganado Middle School

Imagine. Achieve. Dream. Become.

Yá’át’ééh! We are Ganado Middle School—a dynamic learning environment serving students in sixth through eighth grades in the Ganado Unified School District. We believe that all students can learn. We demand excellence from all of our stakeholders: administrators, teachers, students, parents, and community.

Located on Navajo tribal lands in northeastern Arizona, we honor our Diné heritage. We arm our students with the knowledge and skills required to achieve the future they dream of. We accomplish this through rigorous academics and access to technology and by allowing them to open their minds to endless possibilities both here in the Navajo Nation and in the outside world. We go beyond academics to teach students the value of hard work, the importance of integrity, and the sacred ways of our ancestors.

A Message from Our Principal

Dear Ganado Middle School Families,

Thank you for stopping by to visit us at the Ganado Middle School (GMS) website, and please visit often for updates and news!

Ganado Unified School District is the only k-12 district on the Navajo nation that offers a Project Lead The Way (STEM) experience for k-12 students. Ganado Middle School gives our students the opportunity to experience a world-class science and math experience that will carry them into the global economy. Along with PLTW, GMS also offers a compliment of college preparatory classes in math and science classes on the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels. GMS is a school that encourages critical thinking among our students and staff.

The GMS staff is continually using innovative ideas to challenge our students to become the thinkers of the new world. The NJRHS, student council, Lego robotics, project lead the way, and athletics all foster an environment and attitude of exposure to great things. An incredible 62% of our students involve themselves with extra-curricular activities at GMS. This speaks volumes to our mission of reinforcing positive characteristics and staying active.

This is a community that values education and supports its school. Our parents are actively engaged in their children’s success both inside and outside the classroom. If you would like to be involved with our school, please contact the school at (928) 755-1400. The excellence we have achieved over the years is not by accident. The success of our students is a direct result of a continuous and collaborative effort between our school and our community.

Thank you for visiting our website. If you would like to visit our school or cannot find an answer to your questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via email. Go Hornets!
